Prayer

Throughout church history, God’s people have gathered for corporate prayer. In fact, many of the greatest revivals started as believers joined together in community prayer meetings. At Acorn we come together to pray as one. When we gather together and combine our prayers as one body of Christ the results are powerful.

Sundays

Even though there is far more going on at Acorn than a Sunday service, there is no doubt that one of the highlights of the week is when we gather for corporate worship and to hear God's Word each Sunday morning.

worship

Worship is an opportunity to declare the greatness of God and to bow down; acknowledging our total reliance on Him. At Acorn we aim to serve God in spirit and in truth through our words actions and music. Our sung worship is only a small part of this but it allows us to focus our attention on our Lord and God, who is worthy to receive glory and honor and power, for He created all things, and by His will they were created and have their being.

Bible Study

We should read and study the Bible because it is God’s Word to us. The Bible is literally "God-breathed" (2 Timothy 3:16). In other words, it is God’s very words to us. The Bible is totally reliable and without error. God does not change and because mankind’s nature does not change; it is as relevant for us now as it was when it was written. The Bible gives us the measuring stick by which we can distinguish truth from error. It tells us what God is like.

Open Houses

Every other week at Acorn small groups meet in people's homes for fellowship, sharing and prayer usually with refreshments. These provide a great opportunity to make friends and build solid supportive relationships.

Pasta Meal

Sunday Lunches

Just as in Luke 14, the banquet host invited people struggling in life to come along, so we too invite those who perhaps find themselves feeling isolated or going through difficult times, to join us for lunch. A warm welcome and a hot meal awaits them with food for body and soul.

We also aim to do other activities in the area to show people a demonstration of the love of Jesus in practical ways.
