Belonging

...to be an open and welcoming church – giving people every encouragement and opportunity to engage in fellowship, friendship, fun and mutual support in settings outside of the main services.

Growing

...to help people respond to Christ’s lifelong invitation - “Follow Me”. We believe that spiritual growth is about becoming more like Christ and growing with maturity in all major aspects of life.

Serving

...to encourage each other in using our God given talents and time to serve his purposes in the church and out into the world; developing a heart for serving others and for working as part of a team.

Mission

...to make God known by demonstrating the grace of God and relevantly presenting the truth about Christ  to those around us – including specific people groups God calls us to reach.

Acorn Mission

‘We are ordinary people looking to express God’s extraordinary love to others… with an aim of planting fresh mission initiatives in coastal towns north of the Tyne.’

Core Values

At Acorn we have 5 Biblically based core values, which together help us to function as a vibrant church community.

Acorn Community Church, based in Whitley Bay, exists to…

  • … make Christ known to people of all ages, helping them engage in a meaningful relationship with God – FAITH

  • … make wholehearted disciples of Jesus Christ; helping them to live in the fullness of God’s purpose & grace in all aspects of life – FREEDOM

  • … equip and release people for effective service for God in & through the church and wider community  -  FRUITFULNESS

Worship

...to engage in inspiring corporate worship; where we enjoy God’s presence together. This of course is not just singing, but where every thought or action can be transformed into an act of worship for God’s glory and pleasure.
